By Sandra Pina, General Director at Sustainable Brands Madrid and Quiero.
Happiness is best when shared. And we couldn’t be more excited to share with you that Sustainable Brands Madrid is back and it opens a new series of conversations within the frame of the United Nation initiative #BuildBackBetter, which will guide our discussions throughout the entire year.
In the very first conversation at SB Madrid 2021 we will address the topic: Circular Economy as a unique solution towards building resilient, sustainable and inclusive local economies. Whether it is through increased waste reduction and material reutilization, business model innovation or regenerative practices, the outcomes of circular approaches can have positive economic, social and environmental impacts on local communities.
With the help of different national and international speakers, we will discuss practical examples of how companies are putting circular economy principles into practice, barriers and accelerators of Circular Economy-based business models together with latest trends, upcoming innovations and, ultimately, the next frontier in the Circular Economy.
We will open the webinar with Chris Grantham, Circular Economy Executive Director at IDEO, a reference in Innovation. Together with Chris we will explore new frontiers of Circular Economy: key innovations and how to upscale to the next level. We will further discuss with Alberto Guitiérrez, CEO at Aquaservice, and with Bert Van Son, CEO and Founder at Mud Jeans, barriers to be expected, how to successfully overcome them and which learnings can be derived from their direct experience.
The day will continue with a conversation together with José Luis Gallego, author of “Circulando Hacia una Nueva Economía”, and Alberto Guitiérrez on how to accelerate Circular Economy in Spain from an institutional, corporate and citizenship perspective.
Finally, we will close the webinar with two amazing women: Marianella Cervi, Senior Manager of Sustainability & Responsibility in EMEA at VF Corporation and Elisabetta Baronio, Sustainability & CSR Manager in EMEA for the iconic brand Timberland. Together with them we will examine how circular economy can support sustainable economic models in reaching the new paradigm of Regeneration.
This webinar will be the first of a series of conversations that will develop along the year and during which we will approach from different angles and analyze in depth sustainability and regeneration. We will count on the collaboration of CEOE, as host of the event, and on many other collaborators that are supporting the overall initiative.
