Energy systems are essential for social and economic progress. Although conventional energy systems (fossil fuels) may contribute to economic growth they also create negative impacts on society and the environment. We are on the cusp of a tipping point for renewable energies, where the volatility and availability of fossil fuels such as Coal and Oil are becoming riskier, whereas the falling costs of renewable energy technologies are changing the economics of low-carbon energy sources. Through effective policy and investments, renewable energy will become a viable option for business and society. In this joint presentation Thomas & Xavier will share their vision for transitioning towards clean and affordable energy.
