In an era when the private sector is increasingly expected to play a positive role in improving our lives and societies, Timberland has many extensive and far-reaching sustainability initiatives. From planting 10 million trees, giving employees paid time off to perform community service, and designing new products made from recycled or organic materials, Timberland’s efforts have always been framed around one basic principle: “How do we make things better?” In this joint presentation, Timo & Marianella, lead by Belén from ESIC, will unravel how the successes of such programs are rooted in a culture of empowerment and responsibility, explain how the challenges of implementing them were overcome and share examples of sustainability being a driver of the bottom line.
