Gene Colón began his career as an attorney in the US before entering the medical skincare industry in 1993 as the Director of International Business Development for Biomedic, a clinical skincare line based in Arizona. There he managed 25 exclusive distributorships in 33 countries. After L’Oreal acquired Biomedic in 2001, Gene relocated to New York to join the fledgling Active Cosmetics Division of L’Oréal where he held a variety of positions within Marketing, PR and Medical Relations.

With over 20 years of experience in the medical and beauty industries, Gene is currently the International Director of Communications for La Roche-Posay based in Paris, France. He is responsible for developing brand relevant content and messaging to highlight La Roche-Posay’s scientific expertise and mission of improving quality of life for more than 60 affiliates worldwide. His prior position in the US was as Vice President of Medical & Media Relations for La Roche-Posay in New York City, where he was responsible for outreach to both the dermatological and consumer media targets. As a result, dermatologist touch points significantly increased and La Roche-Posay was consistently within the top 6 overall skincare brands based on unpaid media impressions. Gene also spearheaded several key dermatological initiatives for L’Oréal USA highlighting the group’s commitment to efficacious and science-based skin care.

Gene Colón attended Georgetown University, l’Université de la Sorbonne and Stanford Law School. A native New Orleanian of Puerto Rican descent, he is fluent in Spanish and French.
